One of the first things people see when they look at you, are your eyebrows. Either they’re on fleek, or they’re weak… We’ve all been through the experience of over-plucking our eyebrows at least once before, so here are some tips to grow them back out quickly!
- Coconut Oil: Massage 3-5 drops of coconut oil into your eyebrows for 5 minutes (this boosts blood circulation), leave this on overnight and rinse off with warm water.
- Caster Oil: Apply the oil to each eyebrow and massage it in gently. Let the oil sit for no less than 30 minutes, you can even leave it on overnight, then wash it off with warm water.
- Olive Oil & Honey: Mix together 1/2 tsp. of olive oil with about 3-5 drops of honey and apply to eyebrows. Leave on for 30 minutes or overnight and wash off with warm water.
- Whole Milk: Put 1 tbp. of whole milk into a cup and dip a cotton swab into it to apply to eyebrows. Let this dry then rinse off with warm water.
For extra growth, apply aloe vera extract for 30 minutes after rinsing off oils. Aloe is rich in enzymes and helps to further support hair growth! I hope this post helped some of you!
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by weight loss, or difficulties keeping a healthy weight. Many people with anorexia have a distorted body image, and usually restrict the number of calories they take in, along with having certain foods they refuse to eat. Some people with the disorder also compulsively exercise or purge. Anorexia can affect all different kinds of people. The disorder usually begins during adolescence.
To be diagnosed with anorexia the following criteria must be met:
1. Restriction of energy intake relative to requirements leading to a significantly low body weight in the context of age, sex, developmental trajectory, and physical health.
2. Intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat, even though underweight.
3. Disturbance in the way in which one’s body weight or shape is experienced, undue influence of body weight or shape on self-evaluation, or denial of the seriousness of the current low body weight.
Even if all these criteria are not met, an eating disorder may still be present.
I am not the girl I used to be. Everybody changes throughout the years, but my change wasn’t positive. I developed anxiety, depression and an eating disorder- all severe. If you talked to me when I was ten, I’d be just fine. If you put cake in front of me, I’d eat it all without even having a second thought about it. Well, not now…
It all started going downhill when I was in seventh grade, during field hockey season. I was the awkwardly tall girl, the ugly one. I felt like a misfit. I began feeling like nothing I did was right, that I wasn’t good enough for anything or anyone. I didn’t know what was happening or why I felt this way, I was oblivious to what was going on.
In field hockey practice, I couldn’t run as long or as fast as the other girls, I couldn’t do as many push ups. I felt huge compared to all of them with their toned bodies, but I didn’t want to quit. Being on the field hockey team meant you were cool at my school, and my self-confidence was already low, I needed something to pick me up. I became the goalie. That way, I wouldn’t have to run during games and embarrass myself, but I’d still be a part of the team. Excluded, but I still had somewhere I convinced myself I fit in. I had a hard time socializing with the other players, so field hockey began to make me miserable. I wanted to fit in for real… I decided I needed to lose weight. Skinny means happy, right?
I started at about 160 lbs and dropped all the way down to 118 lbs all within two months. I blind to the illness that was taking over my body. Anorexia made my depression levels shoot through the roof. I began to self-harm. By eighth grade I had started losing my friends, dropping them one by one, isolating myself. This is when I was first brought to CPEP (Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program) and was hospitalized. I’d tried harming myself by taking pills before, but it never did anything. This time, I was so depressed I didn’t even have to take any pills. My school guidance counselor was talking with me, and ended calling my mom telling her I needed to go to CPEP. I was in the hospital for a little over a week, it taught me nothing… If anything, being in the psych ward and seeing other people with worse scars than me just made my depression worse and triggered me.
Meet my dog, Calyx! He’s a chihuahua mix, supposedly a puggle chihuahua, but I don’t see much puggle in him… He’s almost 7 months old! This is a picture of his very first time playing in the snow, which he absolutely LOVED! He looks like a little fox doesn’t he?! I think he’s adorable!
Since it’s obviously fall, I thought I’d make another fall related post. Today, I’ll give you 10 fall essentials every girl, or guy, should have!
- Scarves – You can make a scarf go with literally almost any outfit! It makes it super cute and adds warmth.
- Mud Boots – These keep your feet nice and dry when the ground is wet, and they can also put an outfit together!
- Uggs – Who doesn’t love Uggs? They’re so fuzzy and warm so your feet stay cozy all day! Plus, they can go with basically any outfit.
- Tea – Tea is such a warming drink, it’s especially nice to sip on while you’re standing outside.
- Lotion – It’s always nice to soften up your skin, am I right?
- Candles – Make your house or room smell like whatever you want it to! Whether it be pumpkin spice or vanilla, the scent options are limitless!
- Travel Mugs – Perfect to keep your hands warm as the weather starts to get cooler and you’re standing outside, just put in coffee, tea, or another hot drink and sip away!
- Fuzzy Socks – Obviously a must-have to keep those toes warm and cozy at home.
- Touch-Screen Gloves – Again, you’re outside and it’s cold, why would you want your fingers to freeze when you’re on your phone?
- Boot Socks – Keeps your feet extra warm and adds to your outfit!
Of course, we all want more page views, likes, etc. These 10 tips will help you to both improve and grow your blog!
- PROMOTE your blog on social media. Make a Facebook page, Instagram account, and join groups on Facebook for bloggers
- Purchase your own domain name!
- Add social sharing widget
- Make sure your font is legible
- Proof-read your posts, do not rely on auto correct!
- Set up a business blog email
- Delete any unnecessary plugins
- Be sure to have a search bar!
Now that it’s fall, the best thing to have is a Pumpkin Spice Latte. PSL’s can cost so much money though, especially the real ones at Starbucks! To solve this problem, I found a recipe online you can use to make this autumn essential all by yourself right in the coziness of your very own home!
Things You’ll Need:
- Pumpkin Puree
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Mix together 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water into the saucepan
- Bring the sugar water to a low boil and reduce heat
- Add 2 tbsp of pumpkin puree and 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
- Keep mixture as a syrup and stir occasionally
- Take the pan off the stove and let cool for 15 minutes
- Add 1/2 cup of coffee and 2 cups of milk to the syrup and mix it together
Done! Enjoy your homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte!
